Life In Puerto Natales

The lifestyle in Puerto Natales is simply beautiful. There is nothing extravagant or luxurious about the homes, the buildings, or the cars. The luxury of this life comes from the company of good friends and from the views of endless landscapes in every direction. The extravagance resides in a simple conversation over a home cooked meal or a cup of tea. The comfort and peace found with such simplicity is everything I had hoped.

I have added a slideshow with some of some photos I've taken over the last five days. Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It was an amazing day!

Better Late Than Never

I arrived in Puerto Natales a little later than I had originally planned, but who needs plans when you have four weeks to spend in such a beautiful place?!? My tardy arrival was caused by a few unexpected situations. Here is a very brief synopsis of the major events. To start things off on Christmas morning, I lost my passport in Santiago. Yes, it´s true...I made the biggest mistake possible on my first international trip. This in turn caused me to miss my flight to Punta Arenas and then my bus to Puerto Natales. Once I finally arrived in Punta Arenas, I was notified that the airport in Santiago had found my passport. Which is obviously a humungous relief! It was too late to catch a bus, so I found a crazy little hostel in Punta Arenas for my first nights stay in Chile. Early this morning I caught the bus to Puerto Natales. So here I am in the most beautiful place I have ever visited! Well worth the all of the travel and the troubles!

I must keep this short though, because my friends are roasting a lamb over a fire for my birthday dinner! This will most definitely be a birthday to remember! Stay tuned for more adventures...

The Adventure Begins

The wait is over and the adventure begins! My bags are packed and I'll be on the airplane in just a few short hours. Thanks to all of my friends and family for your thoughts as I start this amazing journey. I am quite possibly the happiest person in the world right now!

Counting the days

One week and counting until the adventure begins! My flight leaves Denver on Christmas Eve for the long journey south to Patagonia. Thirty hours later I'll arrive at my destination, Puerto Natales. The next four weeks will be filled with adventures and sights beyond any I've experienced. Words can not describe my excitement!
